Originally from Mississippi, Jeff moved to Nashville around 4 years ago for a job transfer. He went to The University of Southern Mississippi where he got his undergraduate and masters degree in accounting. Jeff is a CPA and currently works in the Treasury Office at Vanderbilt University. He has been riding a bike for a couple of years, and his first year racing was last year. I won the Cat 5 Nashville Cyclist crit series in 2010. This year he hopes to develop as a racer and learn as much as possible from his teammates. His wife, Lori, also works in the Vanderbilt University Institute of Imaging Science as a Post-Doctoral Fellow. Thad lives in Spring Hill, TN with his wife DeAnna. Thad is a graduate of the University of Alabama and is currently a Business Development Manager at SVMIC. He has enjoyed 14 successful years as an employee of the company. At 40 years of age Thad started riding a bike later in his life. After competing in triathlons in ’99 and 2000 he discovered he was horrible at swimming and running, so he solely concentrated on cycling. He finally bit the bullet and started road racing in 2005. With a little luck in only his third race he won the 2005 Cat5 Tennessee State RR Championship. In 2010 he collected his second state medal grabbing a Bronze in the Masters 30+ State TT Championship. Master's Racing with the SVMIC Cycling Team has brought back the passion to compete. | | Paul Dorsa

Their two children are Jeffrey,11, and Catherine 7. They live in Lebanon, and Sonya works as a teacher for Wilson County Schools.
As a kid, Tom's bicycle was a major form of transportation. As an adult, he rode some in college, but allowed my career to get in the way of it in my 20's and 30's. Tom started riding regularly as an adult again in 2005, which started due to a desire to be in better shape, and have been on the bike since. In 2009, he decided that he wanted to try racing in 2010, so he joined the Biker's Choice team out of Hendersonville. He really enjoyed the 2010 season, made a lot of new friends, and decided that he would race as much as possible in the years ahead. Tom is very excited to be on SVMIC and look forward to contributing to the team in any way he can. | | Todd Huber

Jessica Owings
Jessica Owings is a misplaced Midwesterner having relocated to Nashville in the spring of 2010. Jes grew up riding horses but eventually figured out that a bicycle is much easier to house within city limits. She fell in love with cycling and has ventured out on several self-supported bike tours. The most memorable tour to date was in February of 2009 when she rode with friends over 900 unsupported miles down the Baja Peninsula in Mexico. Jes began racing bicycles in the summer after moving to Nashville, and continues racing road and cyclocross as often as possible. Mostly, Jes is the Director of Galleries and Exhibitions at Belmont University, where she also teaches printmaking, but spends a good while dreaming and scheming artistic trouble in the studio at Plate Tone Printshop or mucking about as a lackadaisical gardener. Generally her hands are stained with ink, soil, or bike grease.

| | Mike Poole
Mike, age 35, is originally from Newton, MS, a small town with 1 red light (that is usually blinking red). He and Tara, his wife of 13 years, moved to Nashville in 2006 from Gulfport, MS, after Hurricane Katrina blasted the Gulf Coast. They now call East Nashville home. It was here that Mike purchased his first road bike and began riding with a local club. Mike decided to go competitive with his bike in 2010. His first race was the inaugural SVMIC Hell of the South road race where he finished second. He followed that up with a third place finish in his first Crit race at the Sunny King Crit Series in Anniston, AL, and then another second place finish at the Sumner County Classic. After that, he moved up to Cat 4 and had several top 10 and podium finishes throughout the season, won the NashvilleCyclist.com Nashville Crit series at a Cat 4, and finished eighth in the TBRA point series for Cat 4. He moved up to Cat 3 at the end of the year.
Mike is really looking forward to the 2011 season with his new team and can’t wait to learn from his talented and experienced teammates. His goal for this season is to do everything he can to help his teammates finish each race atop the podium…and hopes to find himself up there as well! |

| | Katie Ryan
Katie lives with the man in her life, Brian, in their small ranch in Fortland Park, East Nashville. She took up cycling in the fall of 2009, when arthritic knees forced her to give up running, a sport she'd enjoyed for nearly a decade. She quickly fell in love with the bike, and decided to try her hand at racing last summer after meeting Jes at the Nashville Cyclist Crit series. Though only able to squeeze in a few races before the end of the season, she ended up taking second overall in the 2010 Oak Ridge Omnium for category 4 women, and won the 2010 River Gorge women's road race. Katie spends most of her time off the bike in the lab, working on her PhD in Cell and Developmental Biology as part of Vanderbilt's MD/PhD program. She looks forward to working with the rest of the women's team to make their presence known in Nashville and beyond. | | No Picture Available | Sandra Talvera
