About Us

 

SVMIC Cycling is a new cycling team and club that is being created to compete in the TBRA race series in 2008.  SVMIC (State Volunteer Mutual Insurance Company) is the "title sponsor" for this team.  SVMIC Cycling strives to attract Master's level racers throughout Middle Tennessee that are passionate about the sport of cycling. While Club SVMIC is available to all level cyclist that want to learn more or improve their current enjoyment in the sport.  Our riders consist of a wide range of people who are cycling enthusiasts, family men and women, and business professionals from various fields within the business community.

We are committed to successfully managing a cycling team based on those two levels of members. The main focus will be on a Masters Racing Team that will compete in the Tennessee Bicycle Racing Association schedule and other area races. The secondary focus will be to build the recreational side over time as excitement grows. All members of SVMIC Cycling understand the importance of advancing the sport of cycling, while sharing the sport with new enthusiasts.

Our Mission is to provide opportunities for our cyclists and exposure to our sponsors while competing at the highest level available. All the while instilling discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship and honesty and paying the price in sweat, effort and sacrifice... taking advice and criticism in an effort to improve... being humble and gracious both on and off the bike... respecting your opponent in both victory and defeat... having pride in yourself... To be loyal thinking in terms of "we" instead of "I"... sacrificing for the good of the team... respecting the sponsors and your teammates.
