A great showing of SVMIC racers came out for one of the most anticipated races of the season, Avery Trace Cycling Classic Road Race. Todd Huber placed 8th with the rest of the team supporting him in the stacked Cat 3 field, yet still earning top results. Ben Reed placed 11th, Jay Levy in 15th and Bob Rowland in 17th. Ellis Caldwell represented SVMIC well in the Cat 5 race, placing 6th and Keith Knittle earned a 3rd place podium spot in the Masters 40-49 race.

Ed McClarty, 3rd place, and Chris Daffin, 4th place, dominated the Masters 50/60 field again!

Jessica Owings, the lone SVMIC women's team member, won a 2nd place podium finish in the Women's Cat 4 race. She's proving to be a strong contender and addition to SVMIC!

Chris Daffin and Ed McClarty raced the following TT again earning great results, 4th and 8th overall in the Masters 50/60.

Again alone, though not detering her from stepping on that podium, Jessica Owings placed 2nd in the Women's Cat 4 crit! Great weekend for the SVMIC Men's and Women's cycling team!

Ben Reed and Jacques Cartier rocked the Nashville Cyclist Crit Series race #3 with a 10th and 7th place finish respectively in the Pro 1/2/3 field.  An 18th and 22nd place finish was earned for Ed McClarty and Marsall Bassett in the Cat 4 race, while Ellis Caldwell finished 10th in a record setting Men's Cat 5 field!

Jessica Owings proved her crit racing skills and placed 5th overall despite being outnumbered.  Great job SVMIC Cycling!

Hot, hot, hot weekend of racing in Memphis this weekend at the Smith and Nephew Grand Prix Omnium. Thad Dehart, Chris Daffin, Ed McClarty and Olga Weeks raced Saturday in the heat earning an 8th, 7th, 11th and 9th finish respectively.  The day's TT proved that SVMIC had warmed up with Chris Daffin placing 1st and Ed McClarty placing 4th.  Congratulations!  Olga Weeks finished strong in 9th after suffering from heat stroke earlier in the day.

The one-two punch of Ed and Daffin continued finishing 10th and 4th respectively in the crit, while Olga finished 9th in the Women's 1/2/3.

The second edition of the Nashville Cyclist Criterium Series took place Wednesday.  Chris Daffin competed in the tough Men's Pro 1/2/3 field,  Marshall Bassett placed 23rd in a pack finish for the Men's Cat 4 field, and Ellis Caldwell placed 14th in the Men's Cat 5 field.

Rachel Scott and SVMIC's newest team member Jessica Owings competed in the Women's 1-4 race and earned SVMIC some Omnium points.  Rachel placed 3rd overall while Jessica placed 11th overall.

- June 5th & 6th
Ed McClarty and Rachel Scott competed in the People's Community Bank Omnium in East Tennessee, racing in the Roan Groan uphill road race, the 4 mile TT, and were joined by Olga Weeks in the State Criterium Championship the following day. Ed took 12th in the Master's RR, 11th in the TT, and got in a break in the crit resulting in a 12th place finish earning him an 11th place finish in the Omnium.  Rachel swept the Omnium, winning 1st in all three races.  With Olga's help tearing the crit a part, Rachel won the Tennessee State Criterium Championship Jersey for the W4.  Olga placed 12th overall in the tough field of Women 1-3 racers.

 - May 30th
Over Memorial Day weekend, SVMIC raced in the tough Gatorade Criterium of Brentwood. Our Men's field included some pro riders in the Master's Race, bringing their average speed to 28 mph! Todd Huber placed 15th and Thad Dehart 19th in the 30+ while Chris Daffin placed 4th and Ed McClarty 7th in the 50+ categories.  On their second crit of the day, Todd Huber got in a long break during the Cat 3 race.  He finished 17th while Thad Dehart finished 21st, and Bob Rowland suffered a flat followed by a crash.
Olga Weeks and Rachel Scott worked very well together, attacking the field several times and cleaned up all the cash.  Olga placed 8th overall and sprinted to all the cash primes while Rachel sprinted to 1st place in the W3/4 crit.  Olga Weeks also raced against pro's in the Women 1-3 race and placed 5th.  Great job ladies!
