Kevin Freeman is putting on a Summer TT Series. This is the first year of the series and is free and is strictly for fun and for training. Bob Rowland, Kevin Freeman, and Thad DeHart all took part in the Tennessee State Criterium Championships in Cookeville, TN. Bob and Thad raced the Cat4 race first and did well with Bob finishing in 9th and Thad in 11th, but both were a little disappointed with not being able to walk away with the jersey.
In the Master's race all three guys lined it up for a fast race. The guys rode well with Thad in 12th and Bob in 10th, but it was Kevin who again was the man of the day. Even though he missed the winning break he was able to finish strong and finished an impressive 2nd place in the Master's 40+ and won a Gold Medal in the 40-44 age bracket. This was a great way to top off an excellent month for Kevin!

Todd Huber and Kevin Freeman went over to Gainesboro, TN to tackle the tough Avery Trace Road Race. The course is a 53 mile trek that covers 6 climbs or various lengths and difficulty. While Kevin had a hard time keeping his bike on the road, Todd rode great. After a 3-man break got away, Todd was able to stay with a small 2nd group on the road. As they hit the finishing climb Todd gave it all he had and pulled off an excellent 6th place finish in the Master's 30+ field.
The Time Trial (TT) was later that day and Kevin Freeman redeemed himself and scored our team's first victory by winning the Overall Master's TT with a time of 20:48min. This is a big victory for not only Kevin, but for our team and is only the beginning of things to come. Awesome Job Kevin!!!

Kevin Freeman had a huge weekend at the Edgar Soto Memorial. On Friday he finished in 2nd place in the 40+ Kilo TT at the Nashville Speedway. He then followed it up with an awesome 3rd place in the stacked field at the Music City Crit downtown Nashville on Saturday night. His weekend was topped off with 5th place finish in the Maryland Farms Crit in Brentwood on Sunday. The "Force from Fayetteville" scored 3 top 5 finishes and racked up 51 TBAR points over the weekend.

The guys continued the busy month of May with the Sumner County Classic in White House, TN. Bob, Kevin, and Thad were joined by Jay Levy this week. The course was a rolling 24 mile route that featured a .33 mile wall that had about a 12% grade. The Master's 30/40 field would complete 2 full laps and "the wall" would prove important. After the first time up it around mile 20 the race blew apart and riders were all over the course. Our four guys were able to stay together in the second group on the road and all finished well.
Kevin rode strong all day and had the best result pulling out an 8th place while Jay finished in a strong 15th...both in the 40+ field. Thad just snuck into the top 10 with a 10th place finish and Bob got 12th in the 30+ group.

Once again Bob, Kevin, Todd, and Thad pinned their numbers on and toed the line at the Highland Rim Road Race in McMinnville, TN. The 55 mile race includes a 2.5 mile climb 15 miles in that usually blows the group into bits. The group was all together when they hit the climb. Todd was able to stay intact with the 2nd group on the road...Bob and Kevin made the 3rd group, while Thad was stuck between the two groups with two other riders. Todd had a great sprint in his group and finish 13th, Thad finished 15th and Bob 20th all in the 30+ competition. Kevin also rode very well and finished 20th in the 40+ field. The guys continue to get out there and compete with some of the best cyclist in Master’s racing in TN and continue to show well.

The South Knoxville TT and RR were held in the rain and high winds. Our team was represented with Bob Rowland, Kevin Freeman, Todd Huber, and Thad DeHart. The TT was a 5K rolling course with a hard crosswind coming from the riders left. All four of our guys rode well and finished in the Top 10 in their fields. In the Master's 30+ Todd finished 7th, Thad 9th, and Bob 10th. In the Master's 40+ field Kevin grabbed a 9th place spot as well.
The team didn't get the results they were looking for during the Road Race but the guys continued their Top 10 results with Todd pulling out an impressive 9th, Bob followed in 10th, and Thad in 11th.

Todd Huber, Bob Rowland, and Thad DeHart competed in the Masters 30+ GA Cup - Chattanooga Road Race. At the same time Clarke Clingenpeel was competing in the ProAm 1/2 race. Both Thad and Clarke rode well in their races, but it was Todd and Bob who both came home with a chance at the end. The Master's race ended in a bunch finish of about 35 guys (~70 started), some of which are the biggest names in the area. Todd pulled off a great 16th place while Bob was right there in 23rd. Great start for the Team!!!

Todd Huber and Brian Gant competed in the 2007/2008 TN State Cyclocross Championship. In only his 2nd Cyclocross race ever Todd pulled off a very good 8th place in the Cat4 field. Brian also showed well and finished in 15th place. This was a great start for 2008 as SVMIC Cycling recorded it's first BAR points.
