A TIME TO REFLECT

Well our first year as a new team is in the books and I have to say I am proud to be a part of this team.  I feel like we exceeded expectations and definitely made some people take notice that when we showed up our guys would race hard, smart, and as a TEAM.

There was a lot of work involved to get this thing going at the end of 2007 and into 2008.  I want to thank Randy Meador for being a big help with most of the small tedious work, to Keith Knittle for being the DS and keeping us motivated and focused all year, and thank you to our sponsors for coming on board for not only last year but again for 2009.  Finally, I would be amiss with giving a huge thank you to my wife for putting up with my obsession to make this team the best around.  She knew I was motivated by other’s comments that this team, “wouldn’t last two years” and allowed me to do whatever I needed to make it work.

Of course...my teammates were the best I could have ever asked for.  They trained hard, raced harder, and believed in what this team was all about.  We became one group in Asheville, North Carolina; the racing calendar started in Chattanooga at a Georgia Cup race; we met and quickly believed in The Freak; we then added Mr. Daffin; and ended on the rollers in Knoxville with several wins and medals in our “locker” to show for our efforts.  I could write about so many lessons I learned in each race and how friendships were grown by suffering with teammates...that’s just too much to type.

The cool thing is that it wasn't all about racing.  We helped Antrione Webb make his commute a little easier.  Kevin Freeman has sparked an interest in cycling for several boys down in Fayetteville, TN.  We also helped raise money for little Caleb Gill and his fight for life!  We have a great group of guys!

I am excited about our new guys that have joined us for the 2009 season and expect even better things to come.  It will be here before you know it...
